Thomas Fraser-Holmes secures two more events at Rio

Two nights after easily winning the 400m individual medley national title in Adelaide to book his spot at a secondOlympic Games, Fraser-Holmes dead-heated withCameron McEvoy in the 200m freestyle final.

Fraser-Holmes was just behind McEvoy heading into the last lap but he finished strongly to match him andtouchthe wallin 1 minute 45.63 seconds.

“I had my head down for the last 10 strokes, so I have got no idea,” McEvoy said.

“I was trying to use my peripheral vision and couldn’t see anything.

“All I could see was black line. And all I could feel was how my arms were about to fall off. I was just digging deep.”

On Thursday night,Fraser-Holmes,24, clocked 4:11.09, just under a second outside of his Australian record, in the 400m IM.

He will chase qualification for a fourth event on Monday and Tuesday in the heats and finals of the 200m IM.
