Police search for teen abscondee – Kiama

Police have appealed for public help to locate a teenager who absconded after a supervised day release at Kiama on Saturday.

The 15-year-old boy, who is currently in the Reiby Juvenile Justice Centre, attended the Kiama blow hole area under supervision.

About 6.30pm, he failed to return to supervisors after visiting a bathroom at the location.

A search of the area failed to locate him, and officers from Campbelltown Local Area Command were alerted.

Investigating officers are now seeking public assistance as they try to locate the teenager, who has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, of slim build, with an olive complexion, dark hair and about 165-170cm tall.

He was last seen wearing green camouflage trousers and a white t-shirt.

The teen may be heading towards the Lake Illawarra area.
