Milton scores golden goal in carnival game

The B mixed team consisted of Toni Murray, Georgia McMaster, Claire McMaster, Luke Wilford, Matthew Shea and Nathan Shea. The team played Burradoo 3 in the first game. Toni Murray at number one had an outstanding game scoring five goals in the first chukka. Claire played the two, intercepting balls and distributing to her players and Georgia was a powerhouse in the three position. The final score for the game was 14-4. The second gameagainst Burradoo 2 was tough with Milton’s tenacious play making the game very difficult for Burradoo. The team won 13-4. Sunday saw the Milton side play a strong Lake George team and despite Milton’s best efforts they were out-maneuvered by a well skilled side. Milton played Lake George in the finals with the Shea brothers and Luke Wilford outstanding in their section and the McMaster sisters and Toni Wilford unstoppable.

The C Open team of Les Myers, Kim McMaster, Murray Fox, Julie Murray, Leon Murray and Mick Shea had their first game against Canberra. Les Myers showed how he and his horse Micky could work the area. Mick Shea was able to constantly get clean ball to Julie to score. Milton pressuredthe Canberra side forcing errors, which they capitalised on to win 15-8. Their second game was against Eurocoast. At full time the score was even so golden goal was put into play with Les Myers scoring the winning shot.

The C Mixed team consisted of Amy Lyons, Sally Herne, Kayleen Law, Mark McInnes, Gavin Morton and Heath Cole. Saturday saw the team take on Yass 2 and Moss Vale. Mark McInnes was outstanding in the one position, often winning the ball at the throw in and running away to score. Gavin and Heath worked at getting the ball back up to the goal scoring area.Sunday saw the team play Yass 3. An exciting game with Miltonwinners by a goal. Amy Lyons scored a wonderful goal – a bounce off a clump of grass.

The final gameagainst Bungendoreincludedthe commentator. Amy worked on her stick work to show great improvement and Sally Herne had her best game ever in the number three position. Mark McInnes was able to reach the ball from impossible positions and Gavin and Heath were fantastic.

The Milton Junior sideof Drew Morton, Dana Shea and Beau McMaster had a tough game against the Wanderers. Although they went down all players worked their positions well.

The sub junior section consisted of Saffy Fox, Phoebe Law and Georgia Herne. Phoebe was wonderful at convincing her pony to get around the field and Saffy played beautifully.

Nationals will be played in Albury during thebreak.Zone resumes at Bungendore on April 30 and 1.
