Dazzling autumn garden on show

RENOWNED landscape gardener Paul Bangay will open his magnificent property Stonefields this weekend, giving a unique glimpse as the garden moves through its autumn hues.

But the event isn’t just about glorious strolls insalubrious surrounds. Itwill also raise fundsfor a cause close to Bangay’s heart –theStephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation, which teaches children positive food habits.

It is the fourth time Stonefields, located east of Daylesford,has been opened, but the first time it has been shown in the autumn season.

“Autumnal April means lots of seasonal colour from the oaks, maples and ornamental grapes. The garden changes shades of green, and flowers go to brilliant reds, scarlets and butter yellows,” Bangaysaid.

“Expect lots of colour from the asters,grasses and salvias.”

Visitors are also invited to enjoy food, drink and live music, purchase rare plantsand have books signed by Bangay and Alexander.
